Who We Are
Playful by Design is an interdisciplinary game studies and design network comprising faculty, staff, and students from more than two dozen units, programs, and initiatives across the campus as well as members of many businesses, organizations, and clubs in the Champaign-Urbana and greater Central Illinois areas.
Members of the Playful by Design community make games, play games, teach game design, use playful approaches in our classrooms, libraries, and museums. Together we are exploring playful pedagogies, developing digital learning environments, making use of playful design methods, and engaging in research on play, playful design, games, gaming, and gamers from every possible disciplinary angle.
